GMC Hummer EVs Electrify at SEMA Show

The 2022 GMC Hummer EV and EV Pickup are coming soon to Rick Bokman GMC!

Making its triumphant return to production, GMC’s Hummer is now an electric vehicle...surprising right? Gone are the days of the gas-guzzling H2 with a Dale Earnhardt “3” crudely painted on the driver’s door. GMC has completely reinvented the Hummer series and has done so with climate change in mind, making it the first electric Hummer vehicle to ever be in production.

For such an exciting return, GMC picked the annual SEMA show to debut the all-new GMC Hummer EV and EV Pickup. The Hummer wasn’t the only thing that was electrified at SEMA, as the crowd was in awe at the amazing reveal of the Hummer EV. Like something out of the future, the Hummer EV boasts aggressive yet sleek styling and a modern look.

Are you located in the Olean area and want to test drive the all-new GMC Hummer EV? Then you’ll want to stop in at Rick Bokman GMC, located in Olean, NY, as we have the largest selection of new, pre-owned and certified pre-owned GMC vehicles available in the Olean area. Stop by today and see why the all-new Hummer EV is a must-have!

Stop, It’s Hummer Time.

Taking center stage at SEMA, GMC decided to show off the Edition 1 lineup of all-new Hummer models to the crowd. One by one, GMC unveiled the electrified Hummers, with the first being a pre-production GMC Hummer EV SUV, so fans would have an idea of what to come. The family-oriented Hummer SUV will be fully-electric and capable of taking you and your family wherever you want to go, all without the cost of fuel.

Next up, GMC revealed a production Hummer EV Pickup, to which the crowd responded well. However, the true crowd-pleaser was the decked-out Hummer EV Pickup that was revealed next, boasting a plethora of available GMC accessories while calling attention to the benefits of this new EV pickup lineup.

GMC wasn’t yet finished wowing the visitors at SEMA, as they also brought along the Chip Ganassi Racing Extreme-E electric off-road race vehicle, which was inspired by the GMC Hummer EV. This racing variant of the Hummer EV is a great proof-of-concept, showing future Hummer EV owners what may be possible on their new SUV.

Custom, You Say?

“The all-new GMC HUMMER EV Pickup and SUV naturally lend themselves to the growing demand for personalization,” said Duncan Aldred, vice president of Global Buick and GMC. “Their commanding looks draw attention wherever they go, and our accessories portfolio is designed to offer customers more choices to tailor their vehicle with off-road functionality, lifestyle integration and styling enhancements.”

A recent study done by the officials at SEMA shows that an estimated $40 billion was spent on automotive customization and aftermarket parts in 2020, with pickup customization leading that statistic. Keeping this in mind, GMC decided to offer plenty of customization options with the all-new Hummer EV lineup, allowing customers to put their own unique touch on the Hummer.

Customization and unique looks are nothing new to Hummer enthusiasts, as the Hummer itself is a vehicle that stands out from the crowd. However, being unique and different is somewhat of identity for Hummer owners, and with the new Hummer EV lineup, more of the same is to be expected.

“We knew from the outset that the strong character of the HUMMER EV would inspire a high degree of personalization from owners,” said Humberto Ortiz, lead designer for performance accessories. “The accessories developed for GMC HUMMER EVs are inspired by its extreme performance capabilities. The accessories’ design and functionality integration make them extensions of the vehicles themselves.”

Those customers that do opt to customize their Hummer EV will be able to easily use those accessories with the new virtual auxiliary switches included on the Hummer EV’s driver infotainment center. Customers that have accessories like off-road lighting or winches will be able to map the control functions to digital auxiliary switches that are easily accessible from the driver seat. Never before has an off-road capable vehicle been so advanced.

A plethora of accessories and customization options will be available on the all-new Hummer EV lineup, so each Hummer can be unique to its owner. From unique tow hook colors to a lunar map, there will be plenty of customization options to choose from. Other customization options and accessories include the following:

  • A hard Power Retractable Tonneau Cover
  • An off-road recovery kit
  • A 50-inch roof-mounted off-road light bar
  • Front off-road auxiliary lights
  • Rocker protector with integrated assist steps
  • A bold, uniquely styled bed-mounted vertical spare tire carrier
  • Sky Panel Storage Tray Set for eTrunkTM
  • Unique accessory wheel design in Tech Bronze (with Tech Bronze center cap and black lugs)
  • Under-seat organizer and I-Bar storage

Luxurious details such as full-grain leather seating, open-pore wood accents, and Ash Burl wood elevate the cabin’s ambiance. Performance has also been refined, with the Duramax diesel 3.0-liter inline-six engine now delivering 305 horsepower and 495 lb-ft of torque. Paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission, this upgrade offers enhanced power and towing capabilities. Updated suspension and steering technology promise a smoother and more controlled ride. GMC Sierra 1500 Denali Ultimate

We Have Cabin Fever for the GMC Sierra 1500 Denali Ultimate

Rarely has a truck’s interior cabin been mistaken for the log variety you’d find out in the woods. That the Sierra 1500 Denali Ultimate invites the comparison is impressive in itself. The Denali and Ultimate are the Sierra’s top shelf trim types, so it should come as no surprise that the Denali Ultimate excels when it comes to handling and performance. What may be surprising is just how comfortable the interior is, to the point where it comes close to simulating a cozy night spent indoors. Did we mention that it has a bed? Courtesy of Rick Bokman Buick Cadillac GMC, here’s a deeper look at GMC’s newest must-have pickup truck. Good Vibes Inside If you're think we're being bullish in comparing the Denali Ultimate’s interior to a log cabin, the truck itself seems to take the comparison to heart, if somewhat inadvertently. To wit, its interior is composed of open-pore wood, and brown coloring is plentiful. Still, you won’t be reaching for a guitar to keep your passengers entertained. The infotainment screen is smoothly integrated into dashboard, offering a bevy of apps including a natively running Google Maps. But the Denali Ultimate’s greatest feature lies in its comfort. To call its interior spacious would be an understatement: leg room is abundant, and the storage space offered is without equal. It even achieves a fireplace vibe thanks to its heated seats. Throw in a front-seat massage function and two gloveboxes and you might find yourself unwilling to remove yourself from the Denali Ultimate’s cozy embrace. Hardwired with Hardware Lest you think we’re being overly effusive in all the Sierra 1500 Denali Ultimate offers, it does indeed include all of the following: 13.4-inch infotainment touchscreen Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay Bose 12-speaker sound system 15-inch head-up display Digital rearview mirror Wireless charging This is in addition to 16-way powered front massage seats, ventilated front seats, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. The Sierra 1500 Denali Ultimate is fully aware of its spaciousness, and utilizes every inch of that space. Roll Into the New Year with a GMC As we await the 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali Ultimate, Rick Bokman Buick GMC Cadillac is your home for new and pre-owned GMCs.
